The books from our carefully selected publishing list have always been supported with massive marketing campaigns. Our billboards and banners appear regularly in the biggest Polish cities and on Warsaw subway, while our big-format posters and twelve-copy bins are on display in bookstores around the country. We cooperate with national press, and we also invest in promotional campaigns connected with our authors' visits to Poland - among our guests were Ken Follett, Clive Cussler and Meg Cabot.Wydawnictwo Amber was founded on 28th February 1989 by Zbigniew Foniok and since 1991 it has been run by Małgorzata and Zbigniew Foniok. It is the oldest privately owned publishing house in Poland. We started from scratch, with borrowed 5000 dollars and a 9-year-old Fiat. We had no financial or legal advisors. We learned everything by ourselves, often the hard way - from our own mistakes - yet we succeeded in introducing the world's greatest masters of popular fiction to the Polish market. We published novels by Robert Ludlum, Frederick Forsyth, Ken Follett, Steven King or Dean Koontz and sold them in hundred thousands of copies. We survived the dramatic collapse on the Polish book market in 1992 and today we can boast of a stable position as one of the leading Polish publishers of world's best-selling fiction, quality literary fiction, young adult fiction and non-fiction. Every year we broaden our list with new series, authors and titles. Currently we publish over 200 new titles and about 50 reprints a year.
